Vascular Medicine

Vascular medicine specialty focuses mainly on conditions and disease of the vascular systems of the body including arteries, veins, and lymphatics. The most prominent symptoms are usually those of peripheral ischemia, deep venous thrombosis, arterial aneurysms, and varicose veins. Clinical assessment component of this module is organized in a functional scheme; where signs and findings are grouped according to the clinical condition, which helps clinician with the diagnosis.

Graphical presentation of body vascular system is anatomical, starting with arteries from above downwards and the same scheme is used in body veins. Different lesion types can be located including aneurysms, thrombosis, stenosis, occlusion, and arteriovenous shunts.
